Let opposite sides be =x  and third side be =y
Give -
Perimeter of triangle =42 cm
third side =(3/2)x According to Question.

so perimeter of triangle = sum of all sides
                                      =x+x+(3/2)x
                                      =2x+3/2x
now we are given that perimeter of triangle =42 cm
  So, 2x+3/2x=42
       (4x+3x)/2=42
       7x=84
       x=12   -  (1)
now y=(3/2)(12)           -(from1)
       y=18         H.P
