given perimeter of the isosceles triangle=20cm

according to the given info

let one side be a

the remaining two equal sides be b

given that each equal side is equal to the two times of the base

i.e; b=2a

b=2a

we know that sum of all sides gives perimeter of the triangle. so;

a+b+b=20

a+2a+2a=20(since b=2a)

5a=20

a=4cm then

b=2a=2(4)=8cm

b(another equal side)=2(4)=8cm

therefore the three sides are =4cm;8cm;8cm

Let the two equal sides be x and the base be y.

x = 2y

According to Problem,

2x + y = 20

=> 4x = 20

=> x = 20 ÷ 4

=> x = 5

Therefore x = 5 cm

Therefore y = 5/2 cm = 2.5 cm
