Given that :-

The perimeter of parallelogram is 140 cm.

One of the side is longer than another side by 10cm.

To find :-

The length of each side.

\huge{\sf{\boxed{\boxed{Solution:}}}}

Let one side be x

The other side = x+10

As we know,

The opposite sides of a parallelogram are equal.

Perimeter = Sum of all sides = 2(l+b)

= 2(x+x+10) = 140

= 2(2x+10) = 140

= 4x + 20 = 140

= 4x = 120

= x = 30cm

= x+10 = 40cm

SOLUTION:-

Given:

·The perimeter of parallelogram 140cm.

·If one side is longer than the other by 10cm.

To find:

The length of each of its side.

Explanation:

We have,

  • Perimeter of parallelogram=140m
  • Let one side of parallelogram= R m
  • Let the other of parallelogram= R+10 m

Formula of the perimeter of parallelogram:

Perimeter= 2(length +width)

According to the question:

⇒Perimeter= 2[R+(R+10)]

⇒ 140cm = 2(2R+10)

⇒ 140cm = 4R+20

⇒ 140cm- 20cm = 4R

⇒ 120cm = 4R

⇒ 4R =120

⇒ R = \frac{120}{4}

⇒ R = 30

Now,

  • One side is R=30cm
  • Other side is R+10 =(30 +10)m = 40cm
