perimeter of rectangle= 2(l +b)
480 = 2(140+b)
240 = 140+b
240-140=b
100cm= b

100cm=1m
so b=1m

and l= 1.4m
area of rectangle = l*b
=1*1.4
=1.4m sq

Breadth is 100 cm and Area is 1.4 m^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

The length of rectangle (l) = 140 cm

Let the breadth of rectangle be 'b' cm

We know that,

The Perimeter (P) of Rectangle is given by 2(Sum of Length & Breadth)

or P = 2(l + b)

Given, Perimeter is 480 cm

or 2(l + b) = 480

2b = 480 - 2l

2b = 480 - 2 \times 140

b = \frac {200}{2}

b = 100 cm

Area of Rectangle is given as Product of Length and Breadth. or

Area of Rectangle = l \times b

Area =  140 \times 100 = 14000 cm^2

In meters, 1 meter = 100 cm

So, area in meter = \frac {14000}{100 \times 100}

Area of Rectangle = 1.4 m^2
