Answer:

To find the width, multiply the length that you have been given by 2, and subtract the result from the perimeter. You now have the totallength for the remaining 2 sides. This number divided by 2 is the width.

Answer:

As we know the perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)units. (let length be l ; breadth be b)

On further simplification we get (2 l  +2 b) units

Given: Perimeter = 20 cm ; length = 6 cm ; breadth = ?

Answer :

2(l) + 2(b) = 20 cm

2(6) + 2 b = 20 ( the value of length is given in the question .So i substituted the value of l with 6 )

12 + 2 b = 20

2 b = 20 - 12 ( by transposing method)

2 b =  8

b = 4 cm

So we have found the  breadth value.

Verification :

2(l + b) = 20

2 (6 + 4) = 20

2*10 = 20

20 = 20

L.H.S =R.H.S

Hence verified

I hope i have clarified your doubts and this will be helpful to you

Thank you
