Hi friend.

Is this the full question?

Because you can't find the sides with just this information.

The complete question is, I suppose to be:

A rectangle with a perimeter of 30 centimeters is twice as long as it is width. What is the area of the rectangle in square centimeters

Given:

(i) The length of the rectangle is twice of that of the breadth.

(ii) The perimeter is 30cm.

To find:

(i) The area of rectangle in cm².

Solution:

Let the length of the rectangle be 'l' cm and breadth be 'b' cm.

So, l = 2b, as length is twice the breadh.

Perimeter is given as:

P = 2(l+b)

= 2(2b+b)

= 2(3b)

This is equal to 30 cm.

So, 6b = 30cm

⇒ b = 30/6 = 5cm.

l = 2b = 2(5) = 10 cm.

Thus, the length of the rectangle is 10 cm.
