The perimeter of the top of the desk shown in the figure is 58 cm
and sum of non-parallel sides of the desk is 20cm and area of top of
the desk is 152cm2.Find the distance between the two parallel sides
of the article.​

perimeter of trapezium = sum of all sides ( a+b+c+d) here a and b are parallel sides.

perimeter = a+b+20 cm

58cm= a+b +20cm

a+b = 58-20 cm

a+b = 38 cm

let the distance between the two parallel sides of the article be x

area of trapezium = 1/2 ( a+b) x

area=1/2 (38cm)x

152cm^2 19x

x = 152/19 cm

x= 8 cm

Therefore , distance between two parallel sides of the article =8 cm
