Let one side=x cm
So, another side also=x cm
So, Base=3/2x cm
According to Question,
Perimeter=42 cm
x+x+3/2x=42cm
2x+3/2x=42cm
(4+3)/2x=42cm
7/2x=42cm
x=(42*2)/7=6*2=12cm
Therefore Two sides are each of=x= 12 cm
& base =3/2x=(3/2)*12=3*6=18cm
perimeter=42
semiperimeter=(a+b+c)/2=(12+12+18)/2=42/2=21cm
area =under root s*(s-a) (s-b) (s-c)
=under root 21*(21-12)(21-12)(21-18)
=under root 21*9*9*3=under root 21*243
=under root 5103

Hope this will help.
