Answer:

Total Number of marbles = 24

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the total number of marbles in the jar = M

As per given condition,

Probabily to find green marble P(G) = number of green marble (G) / Total number of marbles.

∴ P(G) = 1/4 = G/M

∴ G = M/4 ..... (1)

Probabily to find green marble P(W) = number of White marble (W) / Total number of marbles.

∴ P(W) = 1/3 = W/M

∴ W = M/3 ..... (2)

Number of yellow marbles = Y = 10 .... (3)

As we know total number of marbles

M = G + W + Y

Substituting from equation 1, 2, and 3 , we get

∴M = (M/4) + (M/3) + 10

∴M = (3M + 4M)/12 + 10

∴M = (7/12) M + 10

∴ M - (7/12)M  = 10

∴ (5/12)M  = 10

∴ M = (10 × 12 ) ÷ 5

∴ M = 24

Total Number of marbles = 24
