The period before British rule was one of darkness. Can such a conception be accepted today

Answer:James mill divided Indian history into Hinduism and Muslim and British periods.
This periodisation is based on the religious line that there was a face for which the Hindu were the rulers and other work ruled.
Then came the face of the Muslims and Britishers i.e. Christians. He had a colonial mind and thought asians to have poorly civilized. He felt Europeans to be superior.
So , infact, through this periodisation he tried to divide the people with their own specific identity which was not a correct.
During the Muslim and British they were were thousands of Hindu and Muslim princely states.
So , this is not a proper periodisation of Indian history.
Explanation..From my point of view that might be true. No one wants crown rule of despots. As we see that mill divided indians before British rule in three period of time Hindu Muslim and British. There was nominal humanity. Many superstitious practices as caste taboo, untouchability, sati Pratha,slaver...and many more. From mill's opinion Europ civilization was more develop than indian. As per now people take everything as granted .they think everything inhabitants...but but as we see back on span of period before British rule and after we see far changes somehow credit goes to British. For gaining any thing costs something.
