The pH of water collected from a river was to be found acidic because the waste and the dangerous liquids are left to the river by the industries as they are located in the banks of river as they want a plenty supply of water.

Answer:

we know that on the banks of rivers in villages people have baths and wash clothes and utensils. this ways the washing power and detergents enter the stream of river making it acidic and giving it a ph of 3.5 and 4

another reason is that on the banks of rivers there are some rocks whih are chemically formed like oxidation or carbon rocks. so when these rocks disintegrate they emit chemicals in water again making it acidic.

also organic disintegration or oxidation or decomposition of rocks make water acidic near banks.

hope this helps!
