electrovalent compound is formed by total transfer of electron , while covalent bond is formed by sharing of electrons. so, electrovalent bond is strong than covalent bond . as a result, electrovalent compounds have high M.P & B.P

Electrovalentaur ionic compounds and made up of cation and any one due to which they have a strong electrostatic force binding them and hence high temperature is required to melt or boil the compound.Covalent compound have only molecules which are bound together and hence small amount of heat is enough to break the force of attraction.
