The picture shows how the Grand Canyon looks now. But millions of years ago, this region was completely buried under Earth’s surface. Colorado river was flowing through the area where the grand canyon is now present. It dates back to 5 to 6 million years ago. There were several sediment which is formed and the river in due changed its course. Thus a deep ridge was formed which is now termed as the grand canyon.
