The pilot of an airplane, which has been diving at a speed of 540 km/h, pulls out of the dive following a circular path at constant speed.
What is the minimum radius of the plane’s circular path in order that the acceleration of the pilot at the lowest point will not exceed 7 g?
What is the apparent weight of an 80.0 kg pilot at the lowest point of the
Pullout?

Answer:

328 m, 6272 N

Explanation:

1)

R = v²/ a

R = v²/ 7g

v = 540 km/h = 540 x 5 / 18 m/s

g = 9.8 m/s²

Substituting both in above we get,

R = 328 m

2) P = m(g + a) = 8 m g = 8 x 80 x 9.8 = 6272 N
