the pitcher plant and Venus flytrap and green plant that can photosynthesis why do they need to feed on insects

these plants usually grow in area which has less nutartive soil so, to get the important nutrients for survival they feed on insects

Insectivorous Plants are mainly short sized and usually grows below large trees. The sunlight get sheeded off and cannot reach this type of plants in a proper amount due to large trees.

This type of plant require more energy so they feed on insects to fulfill their food requirements.
