Mahatma Gandhi violated the salt law in the coastal town of Dandi in Gujarat.
The British government had imposed tax on salt and monopolized on its production.
Mahatma Gandhi along with his 78 trusted volunteers marched to Dandi from Sabarmati Ashram. The march took 24 days, each day covering 10 miles.

Gandhiji violated the salt law in the coastal of Arabian see at Dandi on Gujrat.
The tax was imposed by the British government on salt and the tax keep on increasing which was not good for the Indians.
Then Gandhi ji along with the members of Congress started a non violence civil disobedience movement which he named as SATYAGARH(self rule).
And he succeeded.
