the plant cell generally do not burst even when they are placed in hypnotic solution. give reason.

because plant cell has cell wall around it which is made-up of cellulose

Here's the answer :-

If the medium surrounding the cell has a higher water concentration than cell i.e. if solution is very dilute , the cell will gain water by osmosis.
While water molecules are free to pass across the plasma membrane in both directions, more water will enter the cell than leave. The net result is that water enters the cell. In such a situation, plant cells become turgid.
This turgidity is due to the cell wall present around plant cells that avoid cells to burst.
