It is true the poem Caged Bird by Maya Angelou revolves around the idea that songs have the power to set one free. The caged bird in the poem is locked within the cage; its wings are clipped and feet are tied; it has no hope flying in the free sky; yet something keeps him alive. It is the hope of flying in the sky sometime in future. It often expresses this wish by singing. So, the bird’s song for freedom keeps its hope for freedom alive.
