The correct answer for this is in Walt Whiteman's peom " I hear America singing", the workers use their voice to proclaim an American identity in which each person plays an equal part. Whereas in Langston Hughes " I too sing America" the speakers voice is stifled when he is sent to the kitchen, demonstrating that not everyone has equal opportunity to be a part of American identity.

Although both the poems are based on the idea of presenting the American identity and what characterises a pure American. Whiteman depicts the freedom of an individual through his words.

Thus both the authors have a difference in the ideas they present. Whiteman provides more of a hollistic and broad vision while Hughes vision is more concentrated and specific.
