The poem my mother at sixty six brings home the theme that ageing is a natural process and it is going to envelope one and all. Comment
It is true; ageing is a natural phenomenon; no one in this world that is born, is free from the laws of ageing. Seeds become saplings, and saplings become tree; after living for some time, they age old, and finally die.
Similarly, human beings are born, they grow, and finally die. In the poem, poet’s pain is reflected in the sad thoughts about her old mother who is standing on the verge of dying.
We human beings can’t do anything about ageing. All grow old; and all die.
