The Nightingale was talented yet she could not become sensational. She gained popularity intially but then she merely seemed like a passionate fire that fizzled out. Similarly, in the society, talent does not ensure success. To have contacts and mediums to propagate and sustain yourself is of more importance. The Nightingale hires the Frog because he posed as a great and well-known singer who could make her a sensation. This seems to suggest that the Nightingale also recognised the importance of influence, however, she chose a false being. The idea is that in this world the society being materialistic cares not of your ordeals, it simply wants products. Thus, there is more a need to figure out a way of keeping the audience engaged rather than being supremely talented. The Frog somehow manages to use every way to remain unchallenged in the bog. Though he is a horrible singer and much hated, he succeeds in making the bog his domain.
