The poet says i doubted if i should ever come back then why did he keep it for another day?

The poet kept the first road for another day, because he wanted to discover the road which was not travelled by people according to the poem tomorrow will never come because if he travellers the road which is travelled by many people he will not discover anything but if he chooses the second one he might get something new to discover.
The poet was caught in such a situation where he had to make a choice between more worn out and less worn out road to travel. I Finally he decided to take less travelled or less worn out road. He said these words because he was not sure that this road would take him to his destiny. He also knew this that he would either be able to travel on other road because he and nobody else is aware about the circumstances and the consequences of the decision made by him.
