1st quadrant - ( +, +)

2nd quadrant - ( -, +)

3rd quadrant - ( -, -)

4th quadrant - ( +, -)

( - 5, 2)

x coordinate is negative and y coordinate is positive i.e ( -, +)

So, it will lie in the 2nd quadrant.

Similarly,

( 2, - 5) is ( +, -)

So, it will lie in 4th quadrant.

Answer:

(-5,2) lies on Second quadrant and (2,-5) lies on Fourth quadrant.

Step-by-step explanation:

Here given two points are (-5,2) and (2,-5).

We want to find quadrant where these two points lie.

For solving this question we should have clear conception about quadrant,

There is total four types quadrant.

They are (1) First quadrant,(2) Second quadrant,(3) Third quadrant and (4) Fourth quadrant.

1.First quadrant -

Here both x and y-cordinates are positive.Sign of first quadrant is ( + , + )

Example -(2,1),(5,10)e.t.c

2.Second quadrant -

Here x co-ordinate is negative and y-cordinate is positive.

Sign of second quadrant is( - , + )

Example -( - 2,4),( - 8,7)e.t.c

3.Third quadrant -

Here x co-ordinate is negative and y-cordinate is also negative.

Sign of third quadrant is ( - , - )

Example -( - 2, - 4),( - 5, - 8)e.t.c

4.Fourth quadrant -

Here x co-ordinate is positive and y-cordinate is also negative.Sign of fourth quadrant is ( + , - )

Example -(2, - 1),(7, - 5)e.t.c

Here given two points are (-5,2) and (2,-5)

Sign of (-5,2) is (-,+)

So, position of (-5,2) is Second quadrant.

And sign of (2,-5) is (+,-)

So,postition of (2,-5) is Fourth quadrant.
