The point of intersection of the lines x = 2021 and y = 2022 is (2021, 1)

Given:

x = 2021 ⇒ x - 2021 = 0 _ Line (1)

y = 2022 ⇒ y - 2022 = 0_ Line (2)

To find:

The point of intersection of the lines x = 2021 and y = 2022

Solution:

Point of intersection is the point at which two lines intersect.

Let two lines are represented by the equations

a₁x + b₁y + c₁= 0  and  a₂x + b₂y + c₂ = 0

Then the point of intersection = (b₁c₂ - b₂c₁) / (a₁b₂- a₂b₁)

Compare Line (1) and Line (2) with a₁x + b₁y + c₁= 0  and  a₂x + b₂y + c₂ = 0

⇒ a₁ = 1,  b₁ = 0 and c₁ = - 2021

⇒ a₂ = 0,  b₂ = 1 and c₂ = - 2022

the point of intersection = ( 0(-2022) - 1(-2021)) / (1(1)- 0(0))

= (0 +2021) / (1 - 0) = 2021 / 1

\frac{x}{y} = \frac{2021}{1}

The point of intersection = (2021, 1)
