1. x+1 = 0

x = -1

p(-1) = a×(-1³) - 26 -13×(-1) + b = 0

p(-1) = -a -13 +b = 0

-a + b = 13 .........(i)

2. x-1 = 0

x = 1

p(1) = a×1³ -26 -13 +b = -18

a -39 +b = -18

a +b = 21 . .........(ii)

ADDING (i) and (ii)

a-a+b+b = 13+21

2b= 34

b = 17

NOW, PUTTING THE VALUE OF b in equation (ii)

a +17 = 21

a = 4
