Answer:

no of females =3000

Step-by-step explanation:

assume, no of males=x

no of females=y

initially, x+y=8000 -----------eq.(1)

if males are increased by 6%

no of males=x+((6*x)÷100)

if females are increased by 10%

no of females =x+((10*x)÷100)

then total population given =8600

(x+((6*x)÷100))+(y+((10*y)÷100))=8600

106x+110y=8600×100

53x+55y=430000 -------------eq.(2)

53×(eq. 1) - eq . 2

53x+55y=430000

-53x-53y= - 424000

----------------------------

0+2y=6000

y=3000;;therefore , no of females = 3000

put y=3000 in eq.(1)

3000+x=8000

x=5000;; therefore, no of males = 5000
