The population of a city decreased from 25000 to 24,500.Find the percentage decrease

Intial value = 25000

Final value = 24500

Change in population( here : decrease)= Final value - intial value = 25000-24500 = 500

% decrease =( decrease/intial value)×100

By putting values , we get :-

% decrease = 2%

Population Then=25000
Population Now=24500

Population Change=25000-24500=500

Decrease %= Population change/Population then×100
=500/25000×100
=2%

Decrease=2%
