let population now be 100

after one year, population is 108 (4% + 4%)

after 2 years, population is (.08*108)+108 = 117 (0 d.p.)

increase in population = 117 - 100 = 17

% increase = (17/100) * 100 = 17%

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

First year :4% + (additional) 4%= 8%

Second Year:8% + 8% on 8%(which is increased in First year)=8.64%

So,Toatal increase population after 2nd year

    8%+8.64%=16.64% Ans
