Population in 2003=54,000, Increasing rate =5%

i)  Population in 2001=54000−

100

54000×5×2

                   [Since Gap=2 year]

=54000−5400

=48,600.

ii)  Population in 2005=54000+

100

54000×5×2

                   [Since Gap=2 year]

=54000+5400

=59,400.
