Population increases by 10% every 3 years

Population after 3 years= 72,600 + 10% of 72,600

= 72,600 + 7,260

= 79,860

Population after 6 years =79,860 + 10% of 79,860

= 79,860 + 7,986

=87,846

(ii) Let population 6 years ago = 100

Then population 3 years ago = 100 + 10% of 100

= 100 + 10

= 110

And present population = 110 + 10% of 110

= 110 + 11

= 121

When present population is 121, population 6 years ago= 100

When present population is 72,600, population 6 years ago
