Step-by-step explanation:

Given

the population of a town increases at the rate of 50 per thousand if the estimated population after 2 year will be 22050 find the present population of the town

Let the present population be P

Rate of increase r = 50 / 1000 x 100 = 5 % per annum.

So n = 2 years

Population after 2 years will be A = 22050

Now A = P(1 + r/100)^n

       22050 = P (1 + 5/100)^2

      22050 = P(105 / 100)^2

                = P(21 / 20)^2

    22050 = P(1.1025)

    So P = 22050 / 1.1025

   So P = 20000

So present population will be 20,000
