Let no. of males be x.

Let no. of females be y.

x + y = 20,000 ( given )

Now,

Increasing no. of males by 10%.

= x + x/10 = 11x/10

and

Decreasing no. of females by 6%

= y - 6y/100 = 47y/50

It is given that population remain unchanged, so

11x/10 + 47y/50 = 20,000

Solving, the two equations :-

We get x = 7500 = No. of males

and

y = 12500 = No. of females
