Given data :-

–› The population of a town is 64,000

–› Annual birth rate is 10.7%

–› Annual death rate is 3.2%

Solution:-

Let, A.B = Annual birth & A.B.R = Annual birth rate & P.O.T = Population of town.

& A.D = Annual death & A.D.R = Annual death rate.

Now to find annual birth

—› {A.B/P.O.T100 = A.B.R

—› {A.B/64,000100 = 10.7

—› A.B/64,000 = 10.7/100

—› A.B/64,000 = 0.107

—› A.B = 0.107 × 64,000

—› A.B = 6848 ....... ( 1 )

Now, to find annual death

—› {A.D/P.O.T100 = A.D.R

—› {A.D/64,000100 = 3.2

—› A.D/64,000 = 3.2/100

—› A.D/64,000 = 0.032

—› A.D = 0.032×64,000

—› A.D = 2048 ....... ( 2 )

Now, we calculate birth in 3 year

—› Birth in 3 year = 3 × A.B

—› Birth in 3 year = 3 × 6848

—› Birth in 3 year = 20544 ....... ( 3 )

Now, we calculate death in 3 year

—› Death in 3 year = 3 × A.D

—› Death in 3 year = 3 × 2048

—› Death in 3 year = 6144 ....... ( 4 )

Now, { from ( 3 ) , ( 4 ) & given data }

—› Population after three years

= P.O.T + Birth in 3 year - Death in 3 year

—› Population after three years

= 64000 + 20544 - 6144

—› Population after three years

= 64000 + 20544 - 6144

—› Population after three years

= 84544 - 6144

—› Population after three years

= 78400

Hence, population of town after three years is 78400.
