Simple.

Total population in year x = 50000.

If growth rate is 20% of population.

So, population in year (x+1) = 50000+ 20% of 50000

= 50000 + 10000

= 60000. This is Net Population.

Now,

For the succeeding year,

New net population = 60000 + 20% of 60000

= 60000 + 12000

= 72000. This is the new net population.

Hence 72000 is the correct answer.

Step-by-step explanation:

The answer for this is...........

Current population is 500000

Rate of increase=4% p.a

1st year=500000+4%of500000

=500000+20000=520000

2nd year=520000+4%of520000

=520000+20800=540800

3rd year=540800+4%of540800

=540800+21632=562432
