the position coordinates of a projectile thrown from ground are given by y=3t-5t^2 and x=4t horizantal range of the projectile is..

answer : 2.4 m

explanation : Horizontal range means , horizontal displacement covered by particle when net vertical displacement will be zero.

i.e., when we get value of t (where t≠ 0) by y = 3t - 5t² = 0,

and putting value of t in x = 4t , we get horizontal range .

now let's do it.

y = 3t - 5t² = 0

or, t(3 - 5t) = 0

or, t = 0, 3/5 but t ≠ 0

so, t = 3/5 = 0.6 sec

now putting t = 0.6 in x = 4t

so, horizontal range , x = 4(0.6) = 2.4m
