Given :  7 + √48

To find : the positive square of 7 + √48

Solution :

= 7 + √(16 × 3)  

= 7 + 4√3  

= 4 + 3 + 4√3

[7 = 4 + 3]

Now try to split it in the form of a² + b² + 2ab  

= 2² + √3² + 2 × 2 × √3

= (2 + √3)²  

7 + √48 = (2 + √3) (2 + √3).

Hence, the positive square of 7 + √48 is (2 + √3) .

Among the given options option (C) 2 + √3 is correct.
