The prenatal period consists of three stages which are the germinal stage, the embryonic stage and the fetal stage.

The two week time period after the conception happens is known as the germination stage. germination can only occur when the sperm mixes with the egg to form the zygote.

After thirty six hours of conception the zygote begins to divide quickly.

Here the resulting ball of cells move from the Fallopian tube to the uterus.

After the seven days of conception the the ball of cells starts to become embedded in the wall of the uterus.

This process is called the implantation and takes about a week to complete.

If however the implantation fails somehow then the pregnancy fails too.

The embryonic stage is where all the major organs start to form and the fetal stage is when the sex organs start to form .
