The presence or absence of hymen is not a reliable indicator of virginity or sexual experience because hymen is a very thin membrane which exists at the opening of the vagina and it can easily be broken by exersion caused due to heavy exercise, cycling etc.

Often people believe hymen as a test for the purity of a girl, however, they are unaware of the fact that hymen can be broken even while playing.

Answer :-

The presence or absence of the hymen is not a reliable indicator of virginity or sexual experience because it can in fact get torn without coitus, and through / due to physical activity, sports and sudden falls or jolts instead.

Extras :-

  • The hymen is just an anatomical septum that is present on the surface of the vaginal orfice by birth.
  • The hymen is attached to the walls of the vaginal office at some parts that is, it is not a complete septum.
  • The hymen also has perforations on its own surface by nature.
  • The hymen has no significance but the fact that it is not a complete septum, has a great significance because if it was in fact a complete septum, it wouldn't have alllowed the passage of menstrual blood to outside of the female body, leading to the death of the female.
