Solution:

Let:

The present age of man=2x

The present age of his son=x

8 year's later ,

The age of man=2x+8

The age of his son=X+8

A.T.Q

After 8 year's their age will be in the ratio 7:4

\sf{\dashrightarrow \dfrac{2x+8}{x+8}=\frac{7}{4}}

\sf{\dashrightarrow 4(2x+8)=7(X+8)}

\sf{\dashrightarrow 8x+32=7X+56}

\sf{\dashrightarrow 8x-7x=56-32}

\sf{\dashrightarrow x=24}

Hence,

The present age of son=24 year's

The present age of man=2×24=48 year,s
