Let the age of son be x.
Father's age= 4x
After 10 years,
Son's age = x+10
Father's age = 4x+10
4x+10=3(x+10)
4x+10=3x+30
4x-3x=30-10
x=20
Son's age =20
Father's age=4×20
=80

Shreya142931: Because after 10 years there age will be 10 more the present age.
Shreya142931: yes, after 10 years the age of father will be 3 times the age of son(after 10years)

let the age of son be x years.
Present age of father (y) = 4x years.

After 10 years,
son's age = (x+10) years
father's age = (4x+10) years
However, given after 10 years, father's age = 3(x+10) = (3x+30) years

ACCORDING TO PROBLEM,
(4x+10) = (3x+30)
=> 4x-3x = 30-10
=> x = 20

Therefore, son's age = 20 years
Hence, father's age = 4x years = (4×20) years = 80 years.
