Solution :

Let :

  • Son age be x .
  • Father age be 3x.

After 5 years :

  • Son age = x + 5 .
  • Father age = 3x + 5 .

Now :

x + 3x + 5 + 5 = 82

4x + 10 = 82

4x = 82 - 10

4x = 72

x = 72/4

x = 18

Therefore , The Value of x is 18 .
