The present age of the father is twice the sum of the ages of his two children. 22 years hence, the sum of the ages of the children will be the same as his age then. Find the present age of the father.

Let ages be F, A and B

F= 2(A+B)

F+22 = (A+22)+(B+22) = A+B+44

F = A+B+22 = 2A+2B; therefore A+B = 22

F = 44
