Here,is your answer.

Let the present age of son be = x
So,A/Q present age of father = 5x - 3

After 5 years their ages will be

Son's age = x + 5
Father's age = 5x - 3 + 5 = 5x + 2

Now,according to the question -
age of father will be 3 years more than three times the age of the son

Son's age = 3 + 3(x + 5)
= 3 + 3x + 15
= 3x + 18

A/Q
5x + 2 = 3x + 18
5x - 3x = 18 - 2
2x = 16
x = 16÷2
x = 8

So, the present age of son is = x = 8 years.

Hope it helps
