Let, Tom age be x.
Therefore, His sister age will be2x.

AFTER 4 YEARS,

Tom age=x+4
His sisters age=2x+4
A.T.Q.,

x+4+2x+4=32
3x+8=32
3x=32-8
3x=24

Let the present age of tom's sister be x
and tom be 2x.

After four years there ages will be x+4 and 2x+4

A/q x+4+2x+4=32
=> 3x+8=32
=> 3x=32-8
=> x=24/3
=> x=8

so, the present age of tom =2×8=16 yrs
and his sister's age =8 yrs
Hope this helps......
