Let their present ages be 6x and 7x respectivly.

ATQ. (according to the question)

Ration = 6:7

          =  6x/7x

After 6 years their ration will be= 6x+6/7x+6

But, we are given the value as = 7/8

So, now equate

6x+6/7x+6=7/8

By cross multiplying

8(6x+6)=7(7x+6)

48x+48=49x+42

Transpose 48x to RHS it becomes (-48x) and traanpose 42 to LHS is becomes  (-42).

48-42=49x-48x

6=x  ∴ x=6

Now , ankitha's age = 6×x

                                  = 6×6= 36 years

∴ Ankitha's present age is 36 years
