The present ages of Neel & his sister, Nivedita are in the ratio 4:3. 4 years later, their ages will be in the ratio 6:5 what are their present ages?
Also, do verification.​

Since the ratio of the present ages of Neel and Nivedita is given 4:3, let the present age of Neel be 4x yrs. & Nivedita be 3x yrs.

After 4 yrs,

Neel' s age= (4x+4) yrs.

Nivedita's age= (3x+4) yrs.

According to given condition,

(4x+4) : (3x+4)=6:5

i.e. 4x+4/3x+4 = 6/5

By cross Multiplication, we get

5(4x+4)=6(3x+4)

or 20x+20=18x+24

or 20x-18x=24-20

or 2x=4

x=4/2=2

Present age of Neel= 4×2=8 yrs.

Present age of Nivedita=3×2=6yrs.

Verification= Present age of Neel/ Present age of Nivedita

=8/6 = 4/3=4:3 (Answer)
