Suppose x be the common age between Renu & Ravi.

Therefore sum of their present ages = 44

=> 5x+6x = 44 ( bcoz their ages are in ratio 5:6)

=> 11x = 44

=> x = 4

So the age of Renu is 5x = 5×4 = 20 yrs

And age of Ravi is 6x = 6×4 = 24 yrs.

Hence the difference in their ages is 24-20 = 4 yrs.
