The present of Rohan and Sohan are in the ratio 4:5 . Five years hence their ages will be in the rato 5:6 . Find their present ages

Let the present age of Rohan be 4x years and that of Sohan be 5x years.

Five years later , Rohan's age will be (4x+5) years and Sohan's age will be (5x+5) years. But their ratio ss 5:6

Hence,

$\frac{4x+5}{5x+5} =\frac{5}{6}$

$25x+25=24x+30$

$x=5$

Hence the present age of Rohan is 20 years and that of Sohan is 25 years
