Then, according to the question.

⇒ x/1 + (x*5)/100 = 315000

Taking LCM of the denominators and then solving it.

⇒ (100x + 5x)/100 = 315000

⇒ 105x/100 = 315000

⇒ 105x = 31500000

⇒ x = 31500000/105

⇒ x = 300000

So, his salary before the increment was Rs. 300000
