The presssure of a medium is changed from 1.01xx10^(5) Pa to 1.165xx10^(5) Pa and change in volume is 10 % keeping temperature constant . The bulk modulus of the medium is (a) 204.8 xx 10^(5) Pa (b) 102.4xx10^(5) Pa (c ) 5.12xx10^(5) Pa (d) 1.55xx10^(5) Pa

The bulk modulus of the medium is (d) 1.55 *10^5 Pa

1. Here the initial pressure is 1.01*10^5 Pa and the final pressure is 1.165*10^5 Pa.

2. Change in volume is 10 % i.e 0.1* original volume.

3. Now the change in the pressure = final pressure - initial pressure

                                                          = 1.165*10^5-1.01*10^5

                                                          =0.155*10^5 Pa

4. Now bulk modulus = Change in pressure/ (change in volume/original volume)

                                   = 0.155*10^5/(0.1*original volume/original volume)

                                   =1.55*10^5 Pa.
